I was tasked with creating a typeface for a class. What my end product came to be was implementing straight and dotted lines to each word and solid shapes in between each space in the letters. I put those in to give each letter some character, each letter has different lines and different shapes through its body .
From the typeface I created I put it on a poster to properly display it on what it would look like in real life.
In my type specimen I wanted to capture the essence of what my typeface was and the characteristics that made it unique. I implemented large shapes as well as lines that create shapes. To finish it off I added large scale “B” in the corner to show the detail of each letter up close.
To showcase my typeface I made a type specimen. This was the end product I put on a mockup to grapse a better feel and finish.
Something that is always personal to me is making as many people smile as I can each and everyday. That was a main part of this concept. A phrase I would always say is “Aye you keep a smile”, added with the typeface I made I made this sticker saying “AYE U KEEP A SMILE”. I wanted to get right to the point but also wanted it to feel more like a sticker.
